TannyTalk Update #3: February 5, 2023
Summary: A new article series which presents a plan for world peace.
Hi there subscribers, this is Phil Tanny from TannyTalk.com writing to bring you a quick update on new articles on the site.
In keeping with my usual focus on existential risk, I’ve shifted gears this week away from yelling about nuclear weapons, and towards proposing a solution for world peace, which is…
A world without men.
Yes, a “world without men” concept is far outside acceptable group consensus thinking, to say the least. But if “normal”, “reasonable”, and “realistic” ideas could liberate us from the horror of never ending wars, after thousands of years of trying they would have likely already accomplished that.
At the heart of my writing on this subject is the belief that 1) in the 21st century finding our way to world peace is no longer optional, and 2) that to continue to approach this necessary end in the same old failed conventional thinking manner while expecting different results is not intelligent.
So my project this week has been to begin an ongoing article series where I attempt to make a rational case for a world without men, as a path to world peace. If you have the time to engage this series, I think you will discover that dismissing this approach to achieving world peace is rather harder to accomplish than may appear at first glance.
That said, big ideas require big challenges in return, so please feel entirely welcome to debate this proposal. I’m very receptive to any thoughtful challenge.
Here’s what the world peace article series is looking like so far.
World Peace Is Possible - Part 1: Imagine 90%+ of the violence in the world gone. Imagine trillions of dollars of new money available for life affirming projects. Imagine world peace.
World Peace Is Possible - Part 2: What are the psychological requirements for constructively exploring world peace?
World Peace Is Possible - Part 3: A world without men? Do we have a choice?
World Peace Is Possible - Part 4: Here's why violent men can't be fixed.
World Peace Is Possible - Part 5: How would humans reproduce without men?
World Peace Is Possible - Part 6: Why aren't the experts talking about a world without men?
World Peace Is Possible - Part 7: - Addressing common objections to the world without men concept.
World Peace Is Possible - Part 8: - Imagine that men are already gone. Do you want to bring them back?
There are more articles coming in this series. But as a place to start I thought it would be helpful to seek your input on this project. If you can help me expand the number of people willing to engage in this conversation that would be most appreciated!
Imagine 90%+ of violence gone.
Imagine trillions of dollars of new money available for life affirming projects.
Imagine world peace.
Hey, it beats imaging the end of the world.
Have a good one!
