Amen to all of the above. Bible as wisdom literature is very much in the spirit of Leon Kass (who I linked to earlier), and it's an approach that makes so much sense to me. We are not the beginning of history, nor are we the end of it. So it seems prudent to explore how other people have answered the big questions... or at least interrogated the big questions. (I'm tempted to do one of those Amazon / Netflix recommendations: "If you liked 'Genesis,' then you'll certainly enjoy the sequel, 'Exodus.'")
