The Mystery Of Alien Life Revealed?

Are we alone in the universe? And who's piloting those UFOs??

Good day to you dear readers. This is Phil Tanny from TannyTalk inviting you to join me in a wild speculation journey across the universe. Thanks as always for being part of the TannyTalk spaceship.

In today’s outburst I’ll be exploring two questions:

1. Why haven’t we discovered life beyond this Earth?

2. How do we explain UFOs?

Naturally I don’t have the slightest idea of the correct answer to these questions, so I’ll do the very human thing and make some stuff up, and then persuade myself I’ve found The Answer. If you wish, you can use the comment section to report whether I’ve persuaded you.

Where Are The Other Intelligent Civilizations?

The Milky Way galaxy that we inhabit is said to be over 13 billion years old, and it contains at least 100 billion stars. It seems quite unlikely to this wild speculator that in all that vast real estate we are the only intelligent civilization. Nope, just not buying that.

So where is everybody? Why haven’t we heard from them?

I came upon what is likely to be a quite unoriginal theory on this question while walking in the North Florida woods the other day. If we are to speculate about life on other planets, for now at least, while we await further information, it seems that our speculation should be built upon what we know about life on this planet.

Predators And Their Prey

One thing that becomes clear from spending a lot of time in the woods is that most creatures, the prey animals, are quite alert and careful. After all, a single mistake can lead to becoming somebody’s lunch. It’s life and death out there, every day.

When I enter a clearing any prey animals like deer, hogs or squirrels will immediately take evasive action. Have you ever seen fifty hogs drop it in low gear and exit the premises like a bat out of hell?

At the first instant that even one of the hogs spots me the entire herd starts flying through the bush like a flock of startled birds. You should see all the little baby hoglets working their little legs like crazy trying to keep up with moma hog as she races for the deeper under brush, it’s quite a sight.

If I sit quietly in the heavily forested deep woods for a bit, the birds in the trees around me will forget I’m there and start chirping, chirping, chirping. I heard quite a concert yesterday, delightful! It’s spring, and everybody in bird land is talking up a storm, probably about sex.

But if I get up and start moving around the concert will stop. The birds don’t know what I’m up to, but they’re not taking any chances, and go silent so as to not reveal their position.

So, the noisy clueless prey animals get eaten, and the careful quiet ones have the chance to live another day.

Predator And Prey Civilizations?

So maybe this predator and prey pattern we see here on Earth is repeated at larger scales across the galaxy? Maybe there are predator and prey civilizations on distant worlds, just as there are here on Earth. We all know what happened when European civilization arrived in the Americas, and it’s not a happy story for the victims.

Maybe we haven’t heard from alien civilizations on other planets because the smart ones stay silent, and the stupid ones like us who are blasting signals out in to space get eaten? In either case, both the smart and stupid civilizations would be removed from our view.

But what about the predator civilizations? Well, here on Earth a predator will usually try to sneak up on it’s prey, and won’t loudly announce it’s deadly intentions in advance.

Keep in mind that the Milky Way galaxy is about 10 billion years older than our solar system, so there’s been plenty of time for alien civilizations a million years more advanced than our own to be out there somewhere.

If this predator/prey theory is anywhere near correct, the life and death struggle between predator and prey alien civilizations could be taking place in a manner far beyond our imaginations. Hollywood movies are rather unlikely to be a useful window in to such a phenomena. But here’s a photo anyway because, you know, even make believe alien photos are fun.

But, What About The UFOs??

So far this article has assumed that we’ve not had contact with intelligent alien life. But what if that’s not true? What about the UFOs?

I’m firmly persuaded that UFOs are real, by which I literally mean, that there unidentified flying objects navigating our atmosphere. And I don’t mean Chinese drones, because UFO reports have been with us since the days when the Chinese were all impoverished rice farmers.

Sure, it’s easy to be skeptical and dismissive about any particular UFO report. But dismissing all UFO reports seems an entirely different matter. For the UFO skeptics to be right, every single UFO, photo, video and radar track in history has to be wrong. Every single one. That’s not too likely, imho.

However, having said that, I’m not at all convinced that the UFOs are piloted by aliens from elsewhere. It seems much more likely that the UFOs are being directed by…

Future humans.

In order for this theory to be credible, we only have to assume that human beings will learn how to time travel at ANY point in the future. It could be 100,000 years from now.

Surely you’ve noticed that eye witness reports of aliens (if you believe in such) are almost always of creatures of humanoid form? I used to think this was just a lack of imagination by those making the reports. And that might be the case. But I am starting to wonder.

If you believe as I do that UFOs represent a real phenomena that arise from some source other than our current technology, then naturally the next question is, who is flying these things?

Well, who would have more interest in us than future humans? And who would be as likely to respect our current situation by not interrupting it too much?

But Why Should We Believe You Phil?

You may be asking why you should believe all this blabber about UFOs being piloted by future humans. Fair enough dear primitive earthling, fair enough. You don’t have to believe me of course.

But if you do want to understand the real truth about the UFOs, you should know that I have absolute perfect knowledge of what’s really happening. And that’s because…
