ST. AUGUSTINE: Prince of Peace Catholic Church
You'll find a great nature spot right in the middle of downtown St. Augustine Florida. Page 1.
If you're in St. Augustine Florida looking for nature experiences, don't miss the great city park right in the middle of town.
The photos on the following pages will take you along on our visit to the park associated with the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in downtown St. Augustine Florida.
This park is home to the oldest church in North America, established by the Spanish almost 500 years ago.
You don't have to be interested in any religion to appreciate this park, as it's open to the public, and is a beautiful peaceful place anyone should enjoy visiting.
We go there primarily to feed the friendliest squirrels we've ever encountered, and we've raised hundreds of baby squirrels.
The park is right across from the St. Augustine inlet, and thus offers great water views from under the welcoming shade of large trees.
The water you see in these photos is of a lake on the street side of the park that often contains various types of birds.
You'll begin your exploration of the park by crossing over the walking bridge from the street side to the bay side of the park.
As you cross the bridge, say hi to the seagulls that will likely be perched all along the bridge railing.
