If you’re looking for a fun family nature adventure on your next holiday, be sure to consider the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine Florida.
The Alligator Farm is a zoological park which provides easy close up viewing access to a wide variety of creatures. There are hundreds of alligators of course in displays and a natural habitat, a great variety of different species of gators, and an exciting alligator feeding session.
During the spring the Alligator Farm’s bird rookery is filled to overflowing with a variety of different bird species who are nesting and raising their young. You can get incredibly close to many of the nests which makes taking great photographs incredibly easy.
The adventurous members of your party can even zipline around the park as described on the Alligator Farm’s website.
“Zip through the treetops and conquer aerial obstacles on The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park’s thrilling zip line attraction, Crocodile Crossing. Across seven acres on two challenging courses, you’ll see live alligators and crocodiles right under your toes, tropical birds at eye level, and red-ruffed lemurs nearly at arm’s length. More than 50 different obstacles will have you flying, climbing, and zooming through the zoo!”
Our favorite time to visit the Alligator Farm is in the spring when all the birds are nesting. It’s quite a show! That’s everybody else’s favorite time to visit the Alligator Farm too though, so arrive as early as you can. If I remember correctly they have special passes which allow you to enter early before the crowds, so you may want to ask about that.
The following pages in this section share both the photos and videos we took on our visits, and some YouTube videos from other folks as well. If you’re looking for an online review of the Alligator Park try this.
